Honestly, I’m pretty happy that Obama was elected. I’m sure that some people voted for him because he is black, and I’m sure some people didn’t vote for him for exactly the same reason. But we have to realize, that not every single person in the country is racist. A lot of the voters looked at the two candidates and voted fairly. They chose Obama because they like his values, his ideas, and his campaign. We voted him to run our country and as a hope to make everything better after the disaster that was Bush. And maybe people voted for him because they didn’t want another Bush. Who cares? It happened because it happened. And if everything goes to hell, then go ahead and say I told you so, but at least give the a chance before you start rallying the troops to bring him down.

It’s stupid to suggest that someone is a racist for not voting for Obama. It’s very well possible that someone really believes that McCain would be a better president, and that’s a very valid reason not to vote for Obama.

On the other hand, it’s ignorant not to vote for Obama because he’d be a socialist. I get the impression many conservative Americans don’t have a clue what socialism is or what Obama stands for. In the political spectrum of many northern European countries, Obama would be well on the right wing. American politics are extremely conservative and right wing compared to European politics. American politics can move quite a bit to the left without losing any individual freedom. You might even gain a few. The Bush administration wasn’t exactly a friend of individual freedoms.

But there’s a lot more ignorance in this article. Do you really think 50% of Americans make more than $250,000 a year? I have no idea if Obama’s tax cuts will really benefit 95% of the working population, and I have no idea how large America’s working population is, but I think a lot of working Americans could use a break about now.

I won’t even get into the ravings of the people who think Obama is a muslim. Please inform yourself a tiny bit before you spout your ignorance all over the internet.
